Today, 26 June, the fifth Ukraine Recovery Conference officially concluded in Gdańsk. At the closing ceremony, Poland handed over responsibility for hosting the conference to Estonia. The sixth Ukraine Recovery Conference will take place in Tallinn in 28th and 29th of January 2027.

Estonia’s Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, accepting the handover on Estonia’s behalf, stressed that Ukraine’s reconstruction is Europe’s largest economic project of the coming decade, encompassing not only the rebuilding of infrastructure destroyed by Russia’s aggression but also the development of strong democratic institutions and Ukraine’s closer integration with the European Union.

“Since 2022, Estonia has contributed to Ukraine’s reconstruction through hundreds of projects. Dozens of our companies and organisations are helping every day to rebuild Ukraine and strengthen its resilience. Bringing the conference to Estonia reflects our commitment to continuing our long-term support for Ukraine and advancing this strategic process at the international level,” Tsahkna said.

Estonia intends to involve the other Nordic-Baltic (NB8) countries in preparing and organising the conference. The NB8 cooperation format brings together the region’s expertise, experience, and resources to provide more effective support to Ukraine and to put forward joint initiatives that help accelerate both the reconstruction process and Ukraine’s integration with Europe.
